Yes that is what the mystery switch is for!! When you are overwhelmed with pirates (from another thread). You throw the switch and abandon ship.

Oh, hell yeah. Like the wire bundle that runs down the center of the bottom-side of the cockpit sole that has a newer cable run tied to it... with an in-line fuse holder smack dab in the middle of it??? "What the hell..." I wondered? (Since figured it out. It has to be for the automatic fuel shutoff that was added.) Then there's wiring for the radio/CD/MP3 player that was added to the cabin. *shudder*, along with the new VHF radio's wiring. Gotta do something about that. And the cables for the replacement depth and knotmeter transducers: Just kind of wandering through and across the port and starboard locker areas under the settees--just waiting for something to be carelessly stowed or retrieved from them, destroying a cable. (Necessitating transducer replacement.) What else... well, at least the batteries are now secured. Can't believe the PO just let 'em sit there in the bottom of the lazerette, loose.

Which reminds me: I really need to i.d. all the fuses and lightbulbs on her and get spares on board. And a handy little multi-meter. Really should have one of those on the boat...

All in good time. All in good time.

Schuckerman So are we ever going to learn what the mystery switch was for?

Schuckerman " I see an inline small cylinder looking thing with power to it in the fuel line"

That says it all. I still say it's an electric fuel pump.

I have a problem with an overhead light switch on the boat of my dreams. Whenever I flip it to the on position, it sucks all of the light out of the cabin. Could I have a wiring problem? Or could it be something else?

Sorry...just got finished reading the entire survivial enema thread...tired, sleepy, but vastly entertained and giddy. Thank you and good night!
