Thanks for the info. However, I have decided to come back to reality and I won't be buying a boat this year.
In case you were interested, I was considering this boat:
2005 Beneteau Oceanis 373 Sail Boat For Sale - www.yachtworld.com
A 2005 Bene 373 for $80K seems like a real good deal.

Barry there are a few questions that need to be answered before a true estimate can be given but typically your looking at crew transportation to and from the boat, boat expenses, (fuel, port costs, etc), and whatever crew compensation you've negotiated. If in a hurry it would take about three weeks +/- to NY.
Please check your PM's.

delivery - bvi to Long Island Sound
Again, since it's winter and I can't sail or even work on my boat, I have been reading yachtworld (which is very dangerous). So I find a boat that may be 'too good to pass up'. The big problem is the boat is in Tortola, and I am in NY.
Anyway, since you would know a lot better than me, what would a typical delivery of a 37' boat from the BVI to the Long Island sound (say Port Jefferson) involve? I would not be on the boat and I would hire a delivery captain. How many people? How long would it take? Rough costs?

|ughmo2000||Because it's still cold, even more snow coming, and I don't have any deliveries lined up I had to read something to remind me of warmer days...|

With "Dangerous Damian" at the helm?
Saw 'em instruct an Irish tavern owner, who was Irish born and raised, who's professed speciality was Irish coffee, on how to make a "proper" Irish coffee. That long night ended up with the tavern owner giving us a ride back to the boat!
P.S. I'm lookin for another berth...

|Zanshin||BVI to France and an Irish Captain? Could that have been for delivery of a rather large Oyster?|
