PBzeer I think she said something about it's cute Dawg

Joel, it is rather hard to not comment on accuracy whenever Hurricane forecasts are mentioned, since they've been so off the past two years.

teshannon joel,
We've already had a wicked Nor'easter here in NJ and it got my attention. I'm already thinking about where I'll go if it gets bad this season. Thanks for the heads up.

Joel73 OK you smart a$$es! (g) I meant this thread to be a wakeup call for us boat owners... not a discussion on forecast accuracy. Sheesh...

Boasun I can predict tomorrow's Weather! It is easy to do.
Follow these steps:
Tomorrow Look out the window.
Is it cloudy or clear.
Clear? Sunny day
Cloudy? Chance of rain.
Then put hand out the window.
feels warm? It will be a warm day
Feels cold? it will b e a cold day
feels wet? It is raining.
feels ice cold and wet? it is snowing
Look again out the window.
Can see down the block? Good visibility.
Can't see down the block? It is foggy or you need to clean your glasses.

There I predicted the weather for you.
This weather report was brought to you with a touch of humor and sarcasm.

Banshi I thought it hilarious during a news report the other day how accurate they said the previous (last) years estimation was..............now I know for a fact they had to revise the numbers down at least twice I guess it is all in how you define "accurate" I've lived in Florida and on or near the water all but 2 1/2 years of my life (the remaining were on the east coast of US as well) and I have a hard time taking these peoples predictions seriously when they can't even predict tomorrows weather. I guess there may be a few who will become aware and prepare even though most will not, so it has at least that redeeming factor.

These very inaccurate predictions which seem to be pushing an agenda rather than making any reasonable predictions will eventually lead to even less preparedness among new comers to the areas at highest risk.

The 2008 Hurricane Forecast...

Just thought i'd post this as a reminder that the 2008 Hurricane season is almost upon us. Looks like a busier than normal season. Here is what they are saying: Forecast: Up to 9 Atlantic hurricanes in 2008 :: WRAL.com

Also, an excellent thread that CruisingDad posted last year on Hurricane preparation: http://www.sailnet.com/forums/genera...eparation.html
