soulesailor sounds like you do mostly daysailing? how about a flat-bottomed centerboarder. they are fun to sail and go quite fast under power since they are nearly planing hulls with the centerboard raised.

sailingdog Most of the trailerable multihulls will fold down to 8'6" or so. However, if you're looking at a trailerable multihull... and need to keep it in a single width slip, then you probably should look at the Telstar 28 rather than the Corsair 28/31/36. The Corsairs can't be stored with the amas folded, since the folding system leaves the ama hull-deck join in the water.

Can't you keep your boat down the river or on the gulf?
One small problem with that solution... I would have to SELL the boat to afford a home (or slip) on the Gulf

I thought about a decent trailerable boat but the ramps here are rather short (& shallow) and it's doubtful I could get anything of a reasonable size floated off the trailer. Plus, on the weekends the ramps are a rats nest of PBs fighting, drinking, smashing into one another, etc. It is total anarchy. I originally trailered my Mac but gave that up REAL fast.

Out of curiosity... Any multihulls with a reasonable narrow(relatively speaking) beam. That may be the solution I need.

CBinRI It sounds like you need either a much longer water line or to be closer to the gulf.

That was my thought. A two-hour trip in a boat with 6 kts hull speed would probably be a 15-20 minute trip by car.

sailingdog The sport trimarans I mentioned are usually trailerable too.

mazzy Or move to a decent sailing trailerable. Seaward, Com-Pac, etc. and tow it to the Gulf.
