Chickles and Valientina....

Here is a sniff at your trip (actually our trip) in just 10 days..:p :p :p Hooray....

we set sail June 10th..unless the weather is really crappy...then we still go....

From Cascais.. SEE MARINA HERE

We will leave from Cascais straight past the Cape of Espichel, only a few meters from it...if the weather allows us...

We will sail only 57 NM on day one...

Spend the night in Sines Marina SEE HERE

where we will take a cab, and drive to town, 1 mile or so, or maybe walk if we ave time, and eat a delicious grilled fish (hope you like fish), where as the tradition that started last year with Tom and Val...you pay the bill....(bring Dollars..muchos dollars..eheheheh I eat a lot..and Fred too, and Leadhead..well he's a machine of making POO)

We then set sail at around 4 or 5 am...depends on how happy I am...:p :p

You and Valientina or whoever offers to do it will then (I get the boat out of the harbour, sorry)...sail it alone while I go back to sleep..Ledhead wakes up late too...
and sail the boat to Cape of Saint Vincent...that will be 58 NM...

Then across the cape...gets pretty windy there sometimes... so it's another 8 miles, that can be pretty looooong....to do those few miles.

Then, staright to Vilamoura SEE MARINA HERE where you can see nice stuff, and play James Bond...(bring the wig)...

Where we will arrive, time and God allowing at 8 to 9 pm...after a sail of another 40 NM...

Get the place well memorized...not that you need it, but beats looking at work stuff...

We should talk next week about what and where you guys want to go and what to do..

If you have any questions...keep them to yourself...(joking)

Alex

Wow. What an amazing trip. My mouth is watering over the fish delicacies, too. Very Envious!! :) :) :)

Chuckles et al, Be sure to take lots of photos and post a trip report for those of us who can only live vicariously.

Someday I'll round that Cape...

Fortunately, the women seem to be off limits for photoshopping.
Yep...a policy of mine is women in the family mine or others are taboo.

Only Photoshopped women twice..both asked for it.

However, YOU...my friend....eheheheheheheh

just kidding...in real life I am very different from what you see here..I am quite reserved, shy contained, introspective and humble.

UPDATE ON YOUR TRIP
...

SEEMS LIKE YOU GUYS BE PLAYING WITH THE SPI NEXT WEEK....

looks like if we had gone today, it would have been perfect...

North winds all the way down from 14 to 17 knots, AND north swell!!!

We could easily have beaten records today...

Cascais was all day North winds (Nortada) and all day North swell..so 17 knots wind, plus 3 to 5 knots North current and swell..we'd do easily 16 or more SOG..bummer..

However so far Tuesday doesn't look that bad...if we veer Southwest for a while we may get good stuff...we'll have less swell but still North winds woooooeeeee!!!

As we approach Sines after (if the wind goes like that we'll do the 55 NM in less than 4 hours)..

Sines seems to be same stuff North winds and North swell but since we'll be arriving early afternoon, the wind will die a little..

Then next day, wednesday..crap all morning no wind till 12 to 1 pm as ususal..get the motor on and I will sleep and play with fred...install stuff on the boat...

However, as we approach Sagres at the end of the afternoon, things will get pretty fast.

Passing Sagres and the cape we would have 7 to 8 foot waves, from the North..I don't like those there..and 14 knot winds from the North...good for sailing fast..and some tumble dry

Then...all fun ends at 5 pm....

Wind dies...we're far from Vilamoura..more engine..and more sleep..

If these forecasts last and prove true..T34C, BF and Sailortjk will miss..

A HELL OF A SAIL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

WOOOOOOOHEEEEEEEEE
EEEEEEEEEEEEEE
