There are usually no bolts on the mast plate... You pin the mast in and adjust the rigging...
It's a good idea to motor her in to a marina with lots of sailboats and ask sailors to help you to step it... Sailboaters love helping out sailboaters...
I'll recommend having at least 2 other people to help you when stepping the mast since it can be really hard single handedly...
Welcome to the club btw... Congrats on your boat...

Here's a picture that gives you an idea of what the setup should be:
Do a google search and you'll find all kinds of ways to step masts. Read a lot before doing anything. Send me a pm with a link to your photo page and I'll post it for you. But you need to get the bottom bolt that holds the base of the mast in place. And 3 friends. Preferably tall ones.

Help steping Mast on seafarer 22
I have recently purchased a 1983 seafarer 22 sloop. I have no manual and was wondering if someone could send me some photos on the procedure to step the mast and connect the rigging and lines. I bought the boat very cheap and was told by the broker there is no support included or offered ASIS as they say. I have no Idea on how to hook everything up and have never seen it hooked up so as to take pictures. I also don't seem to see any bolts for the bottom of the mast but there are 2 holes on each side. If possible could some one explain the steps and include some pics or the procedure based on me being a complete newbie, and never having owned a boat before. I am setting up a page of photos of what I bought on my website. Cant link as of yet under 10 posts
