steveg353 Thanks John,
It does have a shoal draft of 4'3". I appreciate the info. I hope to see you out on the water soon!

PBzeer Welcome aboard Steve. I know a good surveyor up on Clear Lake, but none in your area. You might try calling Houston Yacht Sales and asking for Ed Snyder (tell him John on Aria recommended it) and ask him about surveyors in your area. Good luck with your survey, and for the bay, if it has shallow draft, it's not a bad choice of boat.

Back on the water...almost

Hello everyone!
This is my first post. We are in the process of purchasing our sailboat and I have a million questions. I will try to keep it to 1 or 2 at a time.
We will be sailing the Galveston Bay Texas area and really look forward to meeting the sailors around here....boat people are the best by far!
Quite frankly, I have had trouble sleeping these past few days from being excited and anxious (mostly excited)

We are purchasing a 1982 O Day 34 and it is time for the survey.
Can anyone recommend a good surveyor in the Port Aransas/Corpus Christy area? I would also like to include a mechanical/engine survey.

Also, any comments or opinions on this type of boat are welcomed.

If I should post these questions in a different area, please let me know.
