I would agree with Pilots point or anchor at Duck Island. At the east end of the sound you might want to try Stonnington Harbor Dobsons marina easy in / out great places to dine and shop - Nappa tree/ watch hill is along way in and rough in a good blow. Fisher Island is also beautifully good anchorage great ice cream for the kids and the Pequot Inn for the older kids. I would do Stonnington easiest out to watch hill pass or Lords Pass.

Westbrook looks good. Thank you all.

We did Saybrook Point last week. Very easy to get to, very nice shore facilities and an excellent restaurant. Kind of expensive and mostly very large power boats (superyachts or close).

I second the suggestion of Pilots Point in Westbrook. Very easy in and out compared to the Ct. River. A bit expensive ($3.50 per ft last time I was there) but a nice facility. An option is to anchor behind Duck Island. I do that at least once each summer on my annual cruise. You can then duck into Pilots Point to get ice, fuel, and water.

Looking for a marina near CT River
We are cruising for a week starting in 7/13. We want to be at Watch Hill by noonish on Monday, 7/14. Our boat is in Milford, CT. I am planning on sailing her up to Westbrook or the Connecticut River and having them meet me Saturday evening. I need a place where we can leave the car for 5 days that will also be nice to stay at for 2 nights. (1 coming and 1 going home.)
The rest of the itinerary is easy: from there we'll probably spend a night at fishers Island. Next is Watch Hill, then out to Block for a few days and back.
I want to be at least as far east as Westbrook because I want to make it into Fishers Island Sound before flood starts around 2:45PM.
