Depending on weather, crew size, and inclination, I would plan on at least 3 weeks. Less if you stay offshore and sail straight through.
You can go direct to the Channel Five bridge to cross through the Keys, then, weather permitting, you can ride the Gulf Stream most of the way.
My usual route is four overnight hops to the north end of Hilton Head Island from the Keys. I usually go no further than 6 miles offshore on these hops.

|Martinini||Read that Post and my draft is to deep for the canal, so probably will have to go around.|

Check and see what the draft is (also the air draft for your mast) for the cross-Florida barge canal. The answer will make a big difference to you, it's a long long way around the Keys.
Also check the Cruising topic on this board. A guy made it from Houston to NC via the Okeechobee canal, not long ago, you might get in touch with him.

Mobile, Al to Pawleys Is. SC
Whats the best and fastest route from Mobile Alabama to Pawleys Island South Carolina? Given the above statement, this might sound like an Oxymoron---- I'm going to take my time, and will be in a 36' Ketch with a 4'6" full keel. Approx. time for trip? This will be a learning/shakedown cruise.
