Try Warren River Boatworks. The guy who owns the yard is Paul Dennis. They actually specialize in Freedoms, but they work on other boats too, and Paul is a craftsman of the first order who will give you very personal attention. Tell him I referred you. I don't have his number handy, but you can find them on the Internet. If you can't, PM me and I'll look it up for you.

Thanks for the suggestions
Thanks for both suggestions. Visited already NE Boatworks and liked the skillset. We are still apprehensive about being a small fish in a large pond. We will check all other suggestions as well.

Try Rhode Island Mooring Services (RIMS) on Patrol Road in Davisville (just past where the car transport ships dock). They've taken care of my Westerly for the past few years, did electronics / bottom painting / engine work for me and their work is excellent. Ask for Jeff.
If you can afford to invest in a fine boat like a Bristol 38, you should be willing to reach deep to pay these guys for the quality of what they do. I would think you can get NEB to throw in winter storage in return for feeding them a supply of work.
Congrats on the 38.8, that is a very sweet boat.

Boat yard recommendation in Rhode Island
New to us Bristol 38 needs serious stripping of the bottom to the fibergalss, epoxy and bottom paint. Plus some electric upgrades, electronics and engine maintenance.
