Cabin Heaters

Espar and Webasto make super diesel furnaces. I liked the Webasto Airtop series better and hance replaced the rusted Espar with a Airtop 5000.

If you are considering a Webasto, be sure to consider sure marine in WA. Their manual is amazing, and considers just about everything... evidently the product of a lot of time, experience, and customer support calls.

Construction quality and general principles of the Espar and the Webasto are similar. However, the Webasto cost me a bit less.

ESPAR makes a great product. Relatively easy to install, produces dry heat vs. propane and is trouble free.

I''ve had 2 Espars on 2 boats. They are a great product. Very reliable and efficient.

Cabin Heaters

I am considering installation of a cabin heater on my S2 8.5 (28''). Has anyone used the Wallas diesel stove/heater? Am also considering Espar, etc and would appreciate comments. Intend to use heat for early/late season sailing on N. Lake Michigan.
