sailingdog dcarey-

I'd highly recommend you edit your post to modify the e-mail address to non-machine readable form... unless you like spam.

careydavid {a} sbcglobal {dot} net would be an example.

dcarey Ken, I've done the trip from LI sound to Norfolk and into the ICW down to Coinjock a couple of times. The boat we usually take is not going this Fall. I would be interested in helping out if my schedule would allow. Keep me posted. Email if you want to careydavid {a} sbcglobal {dot} net or pm.

Thanks sd. It was late... I've seen that before and understand... just wasn't thinking.

danielgoldberg It may not fit exactly with what you want to do if you want to hug the coast, but Hank Schmitt runs a rally from Newport to the Carribbean, via Bermuda, in the fall. Check out his site, which is Offshore Passage Opportunities: Halesite, New York. Hank does all the things that rallies do, like provide weather routing, camaraderie, help with all kinds of things, etc. If nothing else, check out his website.

going South

Max-on, going along the coast.

Camaraderie, unfortunately, I can't leave much earlier. Hoping to find someone going from RI to at least the Chesapeake in that time frame.

Done the ICW and jumps before, but it's the upper atlantic I'd like some company.

camaraderie There is an "ICW heading south thread" that you can use to post your intentions and timing and hook up with others. Leaving in early Oct. from RI will put you behind most southbound boats. Suggest you try to be in the Chesapeake by early October if you can adjust your timing and hook up with others at the boat show for the passage south from there. There is also a southbound cruisers rally in New Bern NC shortly after the boat show. Here's the thread:

max-on When you say 'south' do you intend along the coast to points south along the coast, or the carib via Bermuda, or Bahamas?

RI South early October

Will be leaving the RI area heading south in early October this fall. this will be my first sail south and think it would be just peachy to find some others who are doing the same to "regata" with. Is this a good place to link up with others or where whould be a good place to post this request.

No real time schedual for the trip, but not in a big hurry on the way.

thanks,

Ken
