I'm new to all of this. However, I have an '86 Catalina 30 that the fridge went bad on. I live in Phoenix and the boat is in San Diego. I don't know where to start with this. I'm getting 115 volts to the compressor assembly, But was wondering what might be ailing the thing since neither the fan nor the compressor run. What usually happens with these things? Is there an inverter on it? What model am I likely to have? The make is an Adler Barbour.
I couldn't get a good look at the unit given my size and the small compartment opening.

I need some guidance on this. Thanks a bunch. Bill

Well...22 years is a good run for any fridge. The first thing to check on is fuse assemblies on the compressor board and corrosion on wire terminations. Once you have done that, then it is time to call in a pro.
Dometic/Waeco bought Adler Barbour some years back so search their website for old manuals or troubleshooting assistance. Dometic

FWIW... if it IS time to replace it...you might consider a DC unit which will run off your batteries both at the dock and on the hook.
