I have the injectors out, they tested well. As for the rebuild, I have it in the shop now, and they are having trouble locating a pump head and rotor, as it is discontinued. If they find the parts they are quoting me $800 to $1200. Without the right parts we are considering using a four port head instead of a two port head, blocking two ports, and using the twin cam instead of the quad cam. It's a "stab in the dark", and may not work, but we haven't ruled anything out yet.

Hate to say it, but putting Volvo and cheap in the same sentence doesn't work.
You could probably have your existing pump rebuilt for what you'd spend for another used (and probably bad) one. Same for the injectors.
I'm not familiar with the MD-7 engine, but if it's anything like the TAMD-120, you'll need to buy or make a special injector extractor tool. If you have the shop manual for the engine, you can find out. BTW, having the shop manual is well worth the cost of the book.

Volvo Penta MD7A Fuel Inj. Pump
I have a seized injection pump on a boat I just reconditioned. The boat has been dry for ten years. I am looking for a replacement CAV pump for this engine, likely used since it is a discontinued item. Does anyone know of a scrapped MD7A with a CAV pump I could purchase. The BOSCH pump that was also fitted on many may work, but I'd need the lines and injectors as well. It must not be expensive since it would be from a worn out engine, and likely will also need a rebuild in the future. Thanks in advance for any useful replies.
