Yes I took my wife out with her too. She is a very patient teacher. And her boat sails very nicely. It's for sale too.

freewind77 Thanks for asking. Just got back to Texas this weekend. Sailing was great with Joy! She had me at the helm as soon as we cleared the marina and invited my wife Sara after that. Her boat is very responsive and fun to sail. She said some very encouraging words to Sara about our posibilities of living aboard and I think it was a very positive experience for her. We spent time sitting and talking on deck riding boat wakes in the Sound. I highly recomend Joy Rides to anyone in the area.

Inexperienced Crew offering CT, RI, NY

Hi, first post, great forum!
We may be relocating to MD and are aspiring liveaboards, at least one of us, anyway. To help "fix" this small issue, we need some experience to base a decision. Since we will be traveling to CT, RI, NYC on vacation, we thought it would be fun to go sailing on a 30-40' yacht to get a feel for what the lifestyle (at least the highlight of the lifestiyle) would be like but haven't had much luck finding charters with crew. So if anyone is interested in a quick 1/2 day sail or so and doesn't mind telling us which "rope" to tug on, then feel free to contact us. Our availability is as quite specific, however. Aug 28 all day, Aug 29 until 2pm, Monday Sep 1 evening. This is a silly long shot but you never know. Looking to convert some land lubbers to the open sea, here's your chance, I think...BTW which end is the bow, right or left?
