craigtoo I thought this would happen after the deletion of the other threads.

***A BRIEF SUMMARY FROM THE PERSPECTIVE OF ONE C2***

Sailnet put adverts WITHIN posts - after your words and before your signature- which gave the impression that one was endorsing said products or services....... this may have been a "programming error" (as claimed by the administrator earlier in this thread) or.. it may have been an attempt to garner more financial support for this site. (It appears it's easier to add more ad's then update the crappy Sailnet store to increase revenue...)

All that said... it cheesed a number of members off and we began to hound the computer geeks among us as to how we could "block" the ads while browsing....while still enjoying the delicious posts here on Sailnet. (Mostly ones from the Portagee)

Several solutions were posted...that would block the ads... completely above board...Totally straight up... and again.... THANKS to them.

The admins (NOT THE MODERATORS) deleted said threads after responding with an explanation of what happened in this thread... Makes sense to me... this is an ad supported board and they want to provide the best value for their customers/sponsors. (An IT challenged customer is a potential customer...).

Sailnet is a great place to hang out... and they did what they needed to do to remedy the situation. I believe it ("it" being a major screw-up) was well handled... They responded appropriately...

That's my take on the situation.

All the best.
See you in Nova Scotia Tomorrow! Home of "The Bluenose!"

Those posts have been removed due to their anti-capitalist nature. I could complain but, since I do not pay a dime to belong here, I doubt that my complaint would find standing in the sailnet court. Since the problem has been remediated there's really no use for those posts and links now. Should that change I am sure that an "ass" will rise to the occasion as happened this time.
