Just finished a cruise up the east coast, currently sitting in miami, and will be headed to the exhumas in feb - my 2003 40' jeanneau needs bottom paint - a couple of cruisers have suggested that i get it done in the bahamas instead of doing it myself in a diy yard here - does anyone have any experience with yards in the bahamas and bottom painting there
thanks

Bring your paint and have it done in the Bahamas. There is a marina just outside Georgetown where you can haul and unskilled labor is abundant and relatively inexpensive compared to Lauderdale.
Two marinas in the Abacos also have lifts and labor. Marsh Harbor boatyard and Black Sound Marina on Green Turtle Cay.
Xort...if you schedule in advance...probably a couple of days in Marsh Harbor. I got good service done in G'Town as well...the waiting was for parts rather than any lack of speed on labour.
I know you can stay aboard for a few days in G'town and don't think Marsh would be a problem either. Green Turtle might be an issue for staying aboard as it is a fenced and locked facility. The Abacos locations all have websites...and it is Abaco Yacht Services in Black sound...not Black Sound Marina.
