|jackytdunaway||i live on Lake Norman in NC and we see mid 20s all the time (sometimes into the teens) and i rarely even turn on a heater in my boat. i leave water in the fresh water tank and the engine is not winterized. Sitting on the lake water helps protect it. As long as there is not a real sustained cold the little bit of heat from the unfrozen lake should keep you safe. I can't speak for the out board engine. i have an inboard diesel.|

|badsanta||how about the water in the impeller of your outboard? No water lines to a faucet inside the boat?|

I'm on Lake Ray Hubbard at Chandler's Landing. Thanks for the comment. I don't think I have anything to worry about.
If the cold ones freeze and explode, then the boat will smell like beer and the wife won't come out anymore. Gee - why didn't I think of that sooner!

Which lake are you at? I live in Carrollton and use Lake Lewisville or Grapevine as my playgrounds.
If you have any type of traps (sink, waste, etc.) those may freeze. Any water lines that supply fresh water to the sink, etc. may freeze and the water in your fresh water tank may freeze depending on its location.
The "cold ones" will probably not freeze since it won't get cold enough for long enough to make them freeze. Best bet on those is to consume them immediately.

What will freeze?
I have a 28' that I keep in the water on a small inland lake in North Texas. The weather is usually fine. In fact I went out for a few hours yesterday afternoon. There is a cold front that has come thru (29 degrees) and I noticed a few people putting heaters inside their boats.
What can freeze? I do not have shore power or water. I have maybe 2 gallons in my water tank. Portable john is empty.
Is there anything I should be worried about other then the 3 "cold ones" I left in the galley?
