ON clarification

Just to clarify... My original posting on this topic refers to an article that appears in the Jan/Feb printed issue of Ocean Navigator magazine. I don't think the article is available directly online. However, it looks like you can get a free (digital) trial copy of the magazine on the ON wesite. sailaway21 I think you'll find that article to be a couple of years old. I expect someone with a subscription to ON will be along shortly to illuminate the issue for us.

In other words, all radar systems are not created equal and all have various limitations and capabilities. The ON article is worth a read if for no other reason than to stimulate some thought on the subject. It will certainly make me think twice on the water as to if and how my boat may appear on another vessel's radar (especially the big boys) in vaious weather and sea conditions. Best regards for a great New Year everyone.

Bene505 Also a good article here: Panbo: The Marine Electronics Weblog: Radar reflectors, do they really work?

sailaway21 Thanks for the heads up.
