I know this is an old post but I just bought a 72 Morgan OI that need the same gaskets replaced can you tell me where to order everything from?

|CaptainForce||The gaskets referred to in the posts above call for a 1/4 inch portlight. I've used the Lexan polycarbonate plastic which was cut with a saw and sanded. 'good luck with the project, Aythya crew|

I just got the gasket in yesterday.....What type of glass did you use Plexi/Lexan/Acrylic and what thickness did you go with I have been to two diffrent stores and none of the people working there have heard of Marine grade glass. Is there such a thing?
Last but not least did you cut the glass with a hot knife or did you cut it with a jigsaw and round out the edges with a sander?
I can't wait to start this project I think it will make my boat look like a million dollars when it is all set and done.

|ashatsea||Just bought a pair of ring pliers from Lowes for $18 my boat is in the water I'm hoping it won't be to difficult to do this laying on my stomach.|

|CaptainForce||Matt, Thanks for that "ring" pliers idea. I have to admit that I worked very hard with the finger stress to complete my eight ports below the toe rail. I still haven't taken on the the four higher portlights in my aft cabin. When I do, I'll have the pliers. Stewart|

Don't forget the ring pliers!!!!
I tried to force that locking strip in with the marlin spike. My thumbs went numb for several weeks. After an hour I had 6" of locking strip installed. I trimmed off the excess and went home.
The pliers open up the gasket and it slides right in, sort of. It still takes some work. It took about an hour to finish the rest of the port.

Ashatsea, The invoice I have for the gaskets is the Stanlock product pruchased from Griffith Rubber Mills, P.O.Box 10066, Portland, Or. 97296, Phone= (503) 226-6971.
The item # for the gasket is 31513SL with the description SL-2026 1/4 x 1
The item # for the locking strip is 37653FTSL with the description
SL-1250 Lock Strip
As you read in the above postings, the gasket replaces the original well, but there is difficulty in applying the locking strip within the 3" radius turns at the ends of the portlights.
