AlanBrown Looked into docking my boat there a few years back. As I recall it was just a so-so marina, with facilities that were far from luxurious. Where it did shine however was the fact that it ALLOWED liveaboards in the first place. This alone turns an average marina into a gem!

As far as shelter from bad weather goes, it wasn't too bad, being tucked aways back in from the Gulf. However, the best thing about the St. Pete area is that hurricanes generally pass either north of south. I can't recall the last time St. Pete or Tampa suffered any serious storm damage.

Good luck! BPM may not be the Taj Mahal, but there are a lot worse places to hang your hat.

sailingdog Kommy-

It might help if you said where Blind Pass Marina was located, as there may be more than one of that name.

I'd highly recommend you read the POST in my signature to help you get the most out of your time here. It has tips on searching sailnet, writing a good post, etc.. Welcome to the asylum.

Blind Pass Marina

Hey guys, again Im a newbie and I have a question about Blind Pass Marina as liveaboard.
Trying to find out your opinions about that place, any and all expreriences?
Good weather protection??
Nice people? Nice docks? or is it bunch of homeless people living in bathrooms?
I'm gonna stop by the marina my next day off to look at it but would be nice to get somebody experienced opinion about it.
Thanks
P.S.
Do they have cable or internet for boats in that place?
