I vote we petition the moderators to change the name of this forum to "Northeastern Sailors" -- while Mass Bay is a nice place, it's pretty limited in it's geographic scope and nobody's been here since August last year. "Northeastern" would cover anything North and East of the Hudson River...and maybe even all the way to Newfy!!
What do you think?
EDIT: My bad. Soundbounder was here in December last year.
Opening it up to Northeastern Sailors is a good idea, since it would include LIS, RI, Buzzards Bay, the Islands, and Gulf of Maine as well as Mass Bay.
If I could do it, I would make it so. Unfortunately, moderators do not have the ability to re-arrange or create new subforums. So I will have to take it up with the all-powerful "Administrator".
Give us some time to look at it, but feel free to remind me again if this seems to be dragging out.
Thanks for taking it up with the owners. In case they need some enlightenment, they can have a look at the graphic below. As you can see Mass Bay is a pretty small piece of geography. The majority of sailors in the North East (east of the Hudson) are not "Mass Bay Sailors. Long Island is the only other "destination" in this area -- ask them where they want the guys in NY, Conn. Shore, Rhode Island, SE Mass and NH and Maine to post. Why not just handle it as they have the Pacific NW.
While they're at it they might want to have a look at how they've handled the Great Lakes -- one forum might do nicely given the number of posts there. Might be better to break the East Coast into four sections (Atlantic Canada, NE, Central, SE) and the have the Gulf of Mexico a single entity.
Agree!!!!
There should be one region.
And don't split the Sound in half. We don't need a Long Island thread and a New England thread slicing down the middle of LIS. I have seen other forums do that. That makes about as much sense as dividing the Chesapeake into separate states.
How bout a flying elvis burgee? Seriously its a good idea. Anything to get rid of that Mass stigma & dilemma.
'Will the last one out please turn off the lights?'
This is an older thread, you may not receive a response, and could be reviving an old thread. Please consider creating a new thread.
