Re: If you sail Lake Huron, say Hi!

Rolled through there once or twice on the mac race. I sail out of the Clinton River in Lake St. Clair. Dont feel bad about the lack of representation, Lake St. Clair is not even on the list.

Re: If you sail Lake Huron, say Hi!

I have just started sailing this year. I bought a Venture 222 this summer. I have been out twice on Huron from Lexington. I love it so far. Looking forward to getting out more next year.

Bayfiled's a nice town, favorite watering hole was the hotel / pub at the East end of the main road and my hang-out while my wife did the touristy shops etc.

We considered going into the Augres River instead of Northport 'cause of the meager channel there. At 5:45pm I called on the VHF for depth information at the river mouth but couldn't raise anyone at the State dock or at the Augres Yacht Club. I even called the State Dock on the cell phone and no answer. We finally entered Northport after the wind and waves subsided.
Can you tell me the depth at the mouth for future reference? Also, do you know the status of the State Dock? And finally, what's a pirate festival?
Countdemonet LOL.. lemme guess.. a retired accountant? Banker? very clever name indeed!
Oh yes.. and welcome to Sailnet!
