Remember who you are, you are a child of the King, And have rights to the kingdom the day you got born again. Remember to pray with your wife.

Gentle, meek, and kind prayers to and for all that pertain to you, my brother.
May the Lord hear you in the day of trouble, the Name of God defending you. Send you help from the Sanctuary, strengthen you out of Zion.

Fair weather,

Wow! Brenda, those are some powerful prayers.Please add western NC to your prayer list. We''ve not gotten the national media attention like Florida, for obvious reasons, but we are experiencing some very difficult times here.

During the last remnants of "Charley" major flooding occured with many counties experiencing 8" - 17" of rainfall in only a few hours.Many have lost their homes,and belongings. The city of Asheville was without water for a week due to a sink hole that broke two major water delivery pipes from the resevoir.The small "Charles Dickens" like area of Asheville known as "Biltmore Village" had 4 ft.of water flooding the buildings.Here in the mountains,we are usually shielded from most natural disasters.I''ve lived here 26 years and have never seen flooding like this before.There is "higher ground," but I can''t reach it yet ;^)

Last night, we again experienced winds of 40 - 50+ mph, with torrential rain.Power lines and large trees are down in most of the area.We hadn''t recovered from the last flooding, making this one even worse.

I keep my boat on a lake in upstate SC.I believe they had major problems also.I don''t know the condition of my boat, but hopefully she''s o.k. Our prayers are with all that were in the path of "Ivan-the terrible," as well as the other hurricanes.

Aye, Stede,
Indeed I am. And here is my report;
I haven''t really fought hurricanes much before this, even as I posted on the thread Perfect Storm. So this is the beginning of my Hurricane Fighting Chronicles.

When hurricane Isabell came through last year I was watching TWC. It was 8ish around here, maybe 9ish. And I said within myself, I can stop this storm! And I knew it.
I was alone, and the Holy Spirit came to me, right into the LR where I was and said;
"Speak against this storm."

Stede, you are not going to believe what I said to Him.
I said "No. I''m not going to speak against this storm. Even if I did, the people will not give You glory." I was so jealous for His glory. For Him to be magnified.
Then He left me. And in an instant, the moment He left, TWC person said "Somethings happened!" (That''s always what the media says when God does something and they can''t explain it. They either say, somethings happened, or, there must be a higher power.)
They said "Somethings happened, the storm instantly came down to a cat 2." The storm was a cat 4 or 5 at the time.
And I felt real strange. like I''d missed out on something big. So, I repented and watched as the people thanked God, The God of heaven, that the storm came in only at a cat 2 and not higher.
As time progressed, POPI makes this post about Charley. I look and sure enough, there was Charley. So I start praying. I''m on my face before God, praying, and I don''t hear anything.
TWC''s on and I''m watching this storm progress. I''m praying, and watching. Praying and watching. And everything I say for Charley to do, he does the opposite. And it was as though the finger of God came upon my tv screen and showed me where the storm was coming in. I said "NO, POPI''s there." So I resolved in my heart to pray for POPI and thank God He was not directly hit.
And I like a little child that goes to her Father said, "God, what happened?" And the scriptures that tell about when Peter got out of the boat, came to mind. Remember what Jesus say to him after that?

Now Frances came up, I resolved not to keep my eyes on the storm. But posted a prayer publicly knowing that if one, just one righteous man would agree with me from his/her heart, all would be well.
Frances was huge, and she came in at a cat 2, down from a 4 or 5. So I considered this to be somewhat successful, considering Isabell, and Charley.

Then comes Ivan. And I''m not leaving anything to chance.
He''s threatening Jamaica, Cuba, and Florida, all at the same time. But first let''s take the most immidiate threat. Jamaica. He''s already plowed through Grenada. So I pray. I pray and watch. Laboring to keep my eyes on Jesus.
I pray throughout the day and before I go to bed at night. Making my petition to Almighty God, on behalf of the people. I go to sleep in peace, and wake up to the headlines "Jamaica Spared".
Yeah, Victory in Jesus!! Not only was Jamaica spared, but so was Cuba, and Florida at that moment.

Did you see that???

The eye of Ivan goes perfectly around Jamaica! And the course of the storm was changed. It did not go straight up through Jamaica, Cuba, and to the whole of Fl like it was predicted. Yes!!!
Grand Cayman Ilse is next, and I pray. I wake up the next day and the eye barely grazes the isle, but wobbles again around it!!! This is sweet, yeah, I''m happy!

It goes through the Yucatan Waterway and into the Gulf and as it does Jeanne pops up.
(I haven''t prayed against Jeanne much.)
Still focussed on Ivan, I didn''t pray hard against him after that because I have this feeling. I went to go to Sabine Pass to fight from there, but 87 was closed from High Island for 20 mi since March of this yr. So I went to a park, and watched from there. I could see the huge waves in the distance and 3 fishing boats with their birds down. And my heart....... longed to be out there...... with them.

Concerning the signs of the times, You are right my brother. A few weeks ago, I read what Jesus said. "And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity;

the sea and the waves roaring;

Mens hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth: for the powers of heaven shall be shaken.
And then shall they see the Son of man coming in a cloud with power and great glory.
And when you see these things BEGIN to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh.

He''s coming!!! You can count on it.

Each morning when we wake up, and we are still breathing, God has given us a new day, a new chance, new mercies that fail not. They are there for each and every human being walking or sailing the face of the earth.

Many people have died in these storms. Their eternal course cannot be altered, if they have not repented and believed on the only begotten Son of the Living God, Jesus, having been told, they have sailed their souls into the lake that burns with fire. Not a pretty picture.
But if they have, they are in paradise, forever. Drinking, and sailing in the river of His pleasures.

Sail on, Fair Winds!!!!!

Good to see you''re still standing after that reckless verbal gybe.

Many discern a red sky in the morning, but few discern the signs of the times.

Sail on the "True" course my sister. Fair winds!

Thanks for the prayer and for those that were offended I am sorry. I have never found myself to be in a position where I would turn down the giving of a prayer. My temple is in my heart and the world is at my door step.A prayer for those in danger I feel is not out of place.

I go out of town for a few and come back to this? Sasha, you are not invited to any of my parties!

Kyle, thanks for agreeing! You may have help kept Frances from being a 3, 4, or 5. Keep up the good work!

Starcresto, Only the precious blood of Jesus can wash away our sins.

Stede, Thanks, I love it!

Pi, I love your prayer, and respect your position. Thanks!

Some of us love the sea for just who she is. She takes no crap and gives no quarter. We wouldn’t want it any other way. We wouldn’t bother the Lord with such trivial matters as the course of a storm, but we would use our seamanship skills to be as prepared for its strike as possible. But for those of you in harm’s way I offer this prayer from the oldest seaport in the United States:

They that go down to the sea in ships, that do business in great waters;
These see the works of the LORD, and his wonders in the deep.
For he commandeth, and raiseth the stormy wind, which lifteth up the waves thereof.
They mount up to the heaven, they go down again to the depths: their soul is melted because of trouble.
They reel to and fro, and stagger like a drunken man, and are at their wits'' end.
Then they cry unto the LORD in their trouble, and he bringeth them out of their distresses.
He maketh the storm a calm, so that the waves thereof are still.
Then are they glad because they be quiet; so he bringeth them unto their desired haven.

Psalms 107

Good Luck!

Why, I believe you might. We share a love of verbal banter. Perhaps it''s something you''ve inherited from your father?
