sailingdog Now, if your dad could only learn to take a photo that was in focus.

nolatom Fred,

Congratulations on getting one of the most unique trophies in the sailing world, no one else is going to have one like this.

And congratulations too on having a Dad who's brave and tough, with a family who is helping him get back to full strength.

I'm in New Orleans, Louisiana, where there are LOTS of Optis, they had the US midwinters here last fall and it was like confetti, there were so many sails out there. Maybe one day you'll sail here on Lake Pontchartrain, or even come over for Mardi Gras (which starts this weekend).

You could even bring your Dad along....

Keep on sailing,

Tom Forbes ("nolatom"--it's from N.O. LA, meaning New Orleans, Louisiana, plus Tom)

knothead Congratulations Fred.
I would try to challenge you for that beautiful cup, but I think your opti might be a little faster than my boat.

CalebD Fred,
Congratulations on winning the BFS cup! Now that I know there is an actual BFS cup I will try harder too.
Keep on learning and racing and may you earn many more races.
It sounds like having your Papa home was a bit like winning the regatta.
All my best.

AjariBonten That's really great. I have been involved in many Internet communities over the years; and only once have I seen a group as dedicated to each other as this one. (I met my wife there!)

Giulietta Yes, guys....

It was Samckdaddy that invented, created, polled and distributed the Cup.

Fred thanked him by pm today, as I forgot that Fred has no permission to read/write pm's.
