outboard

I found taking off the white plastic mount was impossible. How did you manage. I think Beneteau must have gled it with sikaflex.

For the moment I connected by welding the rear handrail to my arch.

I am also thinking of getting an new 8HP the lightest between Suzuki, Yamaha and Honda to put on a RIB fiberglass or aluminium tender around 280 cm.

A comment on this choice would be appreciated. Thanks.

I did the same experince and completely changed the this white plastic part wit a wooden ( teak ) bracket ..( a bit longer than the original one..So the prblem was solved..

Livinstone Thanks Denis!

I have not seen the boat yet, so I am looking forward to the end of may when I will sail it for the first 2 weeks :-)

How do you think the 43 performs under sail? Under different wind speed and angles?

Have the seats in the cockpit same size (170cm) as in the OC40 or are they longer? Is the headroom in the cabin and galley ok (I am 191 cm tall)?

Hello,

There is at least 3 reviews most in french and english: Voile magazine, Bateaux et Yachting world ou monthly in 2007 and 2008.

I have one it is a great boat for the value. It needs minor improvements to become a blue water sailboat.

furling issues also

Also having trouble with the furling main. Found a couple of the balls from the ball bearings on deck the other day. Did anyone figure out a solution?

deniswfoster Hello,

We have installed a watermaker. 60L/H Dessalator. This will compensate the little tanks.

furling main OC 43

Anyone else experiencing difficulty furling/ unfurling the main. Seems this system is very tempermental. I am having the batten pockets redesigned on hull #9.

stern rail OC 43

Yes, I too have a flimsy stern rail. (hull #9). I have spoken to Beneteau and they are looking into it.The mount nearest the stern entry (to port) is showing crazing on the fiberglass. This rail needs additional vertical support, as the top and lower rail extend beyond the stern, creating a cantilever situation. Please call /write Mike Watson at Beneteau and urge them to respond / correct.
