Suitable Boat?!?

Get a Laser or a Sunfish, used. Check the Cape Cod Times on Sundays. You can usually get a sunfish for about $600-800. Beach wheels are a good idea also. Kids can sail, and the boat is very forgiving. You''ll get wet, though. If a ''dry'' boat is more to your liking, look for a Beetle Cat.The price is much greater, there is upkeep involved, but it is a clasic.

Suitable Boat?!?

hey all,
i am currently looking for a cartoppable boat under 14-16 feet, such as one of the escapes. a dinghy would be plausible, but i was hoping for something with a little bit more performance/flexibility. as i am looking in the $2000 or less range, a used boat is a definite possibility. the boat will be sailed by 2-3 people at a time, including an 11 year old. i have sailed at a couple of clubs around massachusetts, and am a competent sailor who feels comfortable sailing solo or with crew. i just don''t know what boat would work best, and all i have seen so far are escapes, plus a few dinghies like walker bays and zumas. could you give me some advice towards a suitable buy? thanks for your time/help.
