timangiel I haven't been down to my boat since last fall, and I haven't had a chance to get there so far this spring, but I am hoping to get down there soon. I have always been confused on this issue because I have seen the 8.0B's advertised as having 5 berths and some have been advertised as 4 berths, and if that is an option, that would explain it. I have a feeling that mine does not have that option because mine doesn't look like the pictures of Implied Consent. When the cusions are removed I have access to the storage without pulling out anything, and I do not have the vertical supports shown in the picture. My cabin sole has carpet, I like the floor in the picture, it got me thinking...

Option

Hi Bret,

Oh, I never even considered that the pull-out berth was an optional feature that not all 8.0bs might have. I guess that timangiel will find out soon enough when he takes his cushions off!

By the way, your cabin sole looks awesome! Mine is pretty worn and scuffed up, but refinishing it is not even on my list of boat projects. I bought my boat in the fall of 2007 after it had already been hauled out for the season, and I spent that first winter poring over all the pictures and literature on your site. Keep up the good work! :-)

Talk to you later,

Don

Be aware that the pull out was an option on the 8.0B

I don't think every 8.0 had the pull out section. I've talked with a least two owners that don't have them.

The 1978 price list shows the pull out option to cost $125! See here (click on the Standard and Option Price List).

And Don is correct, it's a tight fit to pull the section out.

I've posted some photos of the pull-out section here.

Lounge, not settee

It is actually the lounge that converts to a double-berth, not the settee. Remove the lower and back cushions from the lounge and take the stairs off of the cabinet. You can then carefully pull out the upper portion of the lounge into its double-berth position, and use the two cushions as the mattress. There is not a lot of room between the bulkhead and the cabinet and you have to be careful when extending the lounge. You'll also note the addiional storage space and fresh water tank inside the lounge when you extend it.

8.0B berths

Can someone tell me if the sette in the 8.0B is suppose to convert to a double berth, and if so how is it done?

Thanks in advance.
