Islander Sailing Experience

I'm looking at a '67 Islander 30 that comes with an outboard in an outboard well. This is a flat deck sloop that was designed this way. I checked enough to know there aren't many of these around so I'm wondering if there is anybody out there sailing one or of something similar. There is a San Francisco group of 36 & 38 foot Islanders but that would seem to change the dynamics. I found one other '67 for sale in Washington State but would love to hear about people's experience with 30ft. Islanders especially if you are coastal or great lakes sailing. This boat looks good but it is on the hard and for it's size it quite light, 168 displacement to length ratio. So it makes me wonder how it handles in strong weather.
