where's the bottom ?
Yo Lubbers, Purchsed an old Pearson 26 last year and brought it back from
landlocked doom. She's got all the classic faults (rudder bushing, corroded keel, frozen thru hulls, dead wiring, etc. Sailed her end of last summer (Portland Maine) and made my winter to do list. She's all bright and shiny
now with way to many improvments. I'm using a Standard Horizon 300i chart plotter with a F250 fishfinder for depth and bottom detail. Very nice set up
BUT....depth indicator numbers are too small when splitting the screen for
close course and shore manuvering. I'm looking for a read only Standard Horizon depth indicator. They have stopped production and it is the only reasonable instrument that has NEMA input. Raymarine has the 40 series
unit but it only reads sea talk and a converter costs more that the instrument. The issue is I don't want a separate transducer I want to read the fishfinder depth info and put it up on a large number fomat. Anyone know of a remedy ? Or maybe just hang my girlfriend over the bow pulpit
with a lead line and what her pretty stern as she feels for the bottom !
