RedtheBear The Bear's two cents worth;
Tania has been one of my note worthy people since I followed her circumnavigation. I guess she is why I still have faith in the youth of the world. She is now showing sons that there is a whole world out there besides "Wally World and the Mall". God, if we only had more like her.

Daddyo55127 I have her first book; it's pretty interesting. Nice to see she's still sailing and writing.

sailingmum Thanks for the links. I just finished reading 'By the Grace of the Sea' by Pat Henry. A circumnavigation done much later in life than Tania. Had me sitting on the edge ~ exhilarating and frightening at the same time. Tania's book is next.

miatapaul Maiden Voyage is still in print and can be gotten at any book store. I got my copy last winter at Barns and Noble, because I had a coupon. It would have been worth twice the price. I took it on a cruise (on a Carnival Cruise, not a sailboat cruse;-( ) to celibate my parents 50th wedding anniversary. It came in handy as I had a lot of spare time.

sailingmum What a welcome find. As not a Lats and Atts reader (must have been all those cheesecake covers), this is my first intro to Tania. I look forward to more ! Wonderful piece.

wtosterhout Thank you very much! Maybe I can get my skateboarding 14 year old son to actually read something other than a quick passage from Tony Hawk! Any suggestions?

AFAIK, Tania Aebi has only written two books. The first, Maiden Voyage, details her solo circumnavigation at the age of 18 or so. The second, I've Been Around, which came out in 2005, is a collection of her columns from L&A magazine. Her most recent works, dealing with her recent voyage with her sons on Shangri La have not been published as a book as of yet.
