go here:

I bought one last year. The best thing I ever did for the house bank. Your colleague is correct however. You will have to assess the "risk" of no cert. But do that after you''ve read their web page and seen one.

Has anyone seen nav lights in the same LED configuration? I''ve seen an all-around light on a pole, but not, say, anchor, steaming, port/stbd or stern lights...
A colleague surmised that it''s due to Coast Guard certification not yet being available.

Defender ( carries replacement LED clusters for a number of bayonet socket configurations. Remember though, LED''s are extremely directional - very much like a tight spotlight rather than a flood.

I have a number of Perko 300 dome lights which use GE 1142 12V Double Contact bayonet bulbs. They consume nearly 1.5a DC each. Just like at home, its a constant battle to get the kids to turn off the lights. Has anyone found a substitute white LED bulb to fit this type of fixture?
