Re: New 1974 Pearson 30 owner
I own hull 583, a 1974 P30.
Got her last spring. An old boat for sure, but still alot of fun.
I think if there wasn't always something to fix...I'd be bored!
I'm in kingston canada, on lake ontario

I am also the proud new owner of a 1974 Pearson 30, #644. She is currently in Rock Hall, MD on the hard, with a sandblasted bottom just complete (gelcoat looks great!) and all deck hardware removed and rebed. I'll leave her there for the winter, move her to the Havre de Grace/Aberdeen Area in the Spring for her permanent home. Love her lines and can't wait to get barrier coat, bottom paint in Spring and launch her. Currently unnamed, as the bride and I figure that one out! Cheers!

|nickmerc||Mine is a '74 and it s #517. I really like the bronze builders plate. That would make a nice Christmas present.|

I once owned a P30 and she was a great boat. er name was "Yare" and I believe she was built in 1971 but I don't know the hull number. I built a custom nav station and installed hot water. She also had wooden spreaders and light blue decking/white hull/tiller steering. Anyone on this thread own her now? Just wondering where she ended up.

|CascoBayP30||Thanks for your response, Bubblehead... I have a badge just under the companionway door, in the cockpit, facing aft that says Pearson Yachts and is stamped 150. does anyone else have this? And could someone remind me where other hull ID number locations are? Thanks! I'm really curious about all this stuff as I begin to refit her...|

|Ajax_MD||If you can find a HIN, then it's a '74. mine was built right when HIN's started. Early '73, #255. Congrats!|

I recently purchased a P30, and it was sold to me as a '74. Her hull # is 150. After reading this thread, I am wondering... Seems like it might be a late '71 or '72 ? What do you think?

CONGRATS BOFUS! WOW - so many P30 owners in my area! I bought a P303 today - can I be part of the P30 group?? lol...
I'll be living aboard north of Boston or IN Boston - my plan is to settle in a marina in Salem, MA, but there is a waiting list so...
Anyway, I hope to get to know you guys (near and far) and to learn from you all. I think that part of the reason I am doing this is the great support and encouragement from you guys! When it's 20 degrees, blowing snow and ice, I'll be huddled under my blanket with my laptop (assuming power isn't out lol) and contacting you guys for moral support. CONDENSATION? What's that???
Anyway, glad to be here - hope a 303 is welcome on the P30 threads! Steve, I bought "C'est Magnifique" if you're familiar with it, and was on the water taxi today! Small world.
