sfchallenger I've had good luck buying and selling on CL, but only with boats under 10k and 30'. I'd suggest for a larger vessel you look elsewhere.

jameswilson29 Interesting to compare these results with the low priced sailboats on yachtworld sitting there for months. I can't blame the brokers for not being interested in spending a lot of time selling boats for a relatively small commission. Some of the owners might fare better listing their boats on CL when the listings expire.

skygazer Got a call just 2 hrs. after posting my add, cash buyers, no haggling. I'd set a fair price for an excellent boat with an accurate description of the condition. I removed my add instantly so I was not troubled by callers after it was gone.

On the other hand, I just looked at 2 boats with problems not mentioned in the adds. This made me distrustful of the sellers. Rotted trailer, rotted bulkhead not mentioned, what else does the owner know of but won't tell?

I had cash and might have paid the asking price but the lack of trust stopped me.

Piece of cake. Sold it in 2 days. Had people calling for a week.

Now I'm looking for a 420 from my son. In New Jersey.

14432 If you happen to be looking for a boat on Craigs List, there is a wesite that will greatly aid in your search - - 100% Free Classifieds for property, cars, for sale, electronics, artists, musicians & more. Easy to use - click on CL from the home page and you are taken to a Google powered search screen - you can narrow down search to specific regions, etc.
