Hi Paul,
I'd love to see your photos of K-10. And know more about it, and about K-6 too. I'm collecting K-boat info for my database (which might be helpful in your quest for more info), tinyurl.com/K-boat.
Cheers,
- Dave

K-boat database and photo gallery

Dear fellow K-boaters,

I'm creating a Registry of the 323 wooden K-boats that were built. Where they are now, what their history has been. It's online but I don't have enough seniority on this forum to give the link. Try google for "wright-built" "k-boat". I'm also posting photos of them at flickr.com/dematth/collections. If you have any information, anecdotes, memories, pictures etc., I'd love to have them.

Cheers,
- Dave Matthews, K-257 and K-299

Re: Sail plan for 1941 Wright Built K boat

Hi Sam, Great! The K-boat lives again! Any further update? It's 2014 now, are you in business?
It's great to have it done by someone who made them back in the 70s. Will you use the same exact details or tweak them? I'm thinking of details like access to the centerboard drum for if (when) the cable gets derailed.
Cheers,

Ah K boat

I remember the K boat very well. In fact I help build many of them when Murray Wright sold them to Wright boat Company In Canandaigua NY. Owed By Shepard Marine Inc on the city pier.. We made them in fiberglass though, Lol I still have a pair of coverals that got covered in Orange Jel coat when we were unloading 55 gal drums of it. Great Boat I sailed many of them, To bad the molds got burned up in a fire. I love to have one. Hard to find any parts for them now a days. Yep sure do miss those days, Shepard sold that buisness along time ago I worked for them for over 20 years great people. I believe the YMCA camp on canandaigua Lake still has 2 or 3 of them still. I have a lot of memeories of that boat.
