.............but maybe the country you are in might just care enough to ask and in the absence of a US FCC License.......maybe they''ll legally liberate a few of your shekels via their legal system..... you''re better off folling the yellow brick road and getting the proper license ahead of time.

An ounce of prevention beats a pound of pain any day.

Application for Ship Radio Station License is FCC 506; Fill out FCC 506A if you want a temporary license while you''re waiting for your regular application to be processed. Also you''ll need to send a Fee Remittance Advice - FCC Form 159 - with your payment. You can get it as above.
I''ve had good luck with the FCC web site in obtaining all the forms and information I''ve needed.

Try Boat US. They are pretty helpful.

Help please. I can''t deal with the FCC''s auto attendant switchboard. I am trying to find the form number to get a VHF license. I know it is no longer required for the USA, but apparently it is required if you take your boat to Canada. How/where can I get the forms? I think there even may be a form to accompany the payment to explain why you want one in the first place.
Thanks in advance, Marvin
