rkfitz Oh, cut it out, it's just in good fun. There are real sailors and fake sailors? OMG, sailors are like boobs! So, if we're all just a bunch of boobs, it really doesn't matter what kind of hull is under our sails. Geez, you guys really shouldn't be so defensive. Truth is, we all rag on our friends boats. Pearsons have the PHRF rating of a claw foot tub, Catalina's are Frisbees (wide as they are long), anything S&S is a hobbyhorse, and Hunters are Winnebagos. I won't mention what's said about Tartans 'cause I don't want my post deleted. Then we (the blowboaters) put all that aside and join in fellowship and brotherhood when powerboaters (the stinkpotters) come by. It's bad form to harass the trawler guys. they're already pretty depressed that their wives made them give up sailing. Forget Haiti, a true act of Christian charity is to take a trawler guy for a sail.

So, whether you are a blowboater, a stinkpotter, or something in between, you own a boat and love the sea, and that makes you a boob. I like boobs, I consider all boobs my friends, and I always rib my friends.

defrich Gosh rkfitz,
It's so nice that real sailors ( such as yourself ) actually take an intrest in those of us who sail on these lowely vessels. Oh my, I feel the love!

rkfitz Know why you get ranked on here? 'Cause this is Sailnet. If this were Hybridnet, it would be a Mac lovefest, although you guys and the folks who own that Polish hybrid might get testy with each other. I think Sailnet put up a Mac forum just so we'd stop picking on the Dories.

momclarissa Hi! To the Thread Police - Sorry about dredging up an "old thread", but too bad - I did it. I can't believe how rude some people on this board are. I've only been here a short time, and don't come out here but once every couple of weeks, but it never fails: every time I sign on some smart mouth jerk has spouted off again. Great way to keep newbies - NOT! Anyway, my point is that hopefully Aimee has found the answer to her questions. If not, and if she throws caution to the wind and comes back, I'd suggest she check out the It's a forum dedicated to only MacGregors, and while there are some obnoxious people on that board, they usually confine their bad habits to the political forums (aka the Back Room as it's called). And it's almost guaranteed that any question asked will be promptly replied to by not just one poster, but several.

Wheel for a MacGregor

I would be more than happy to answer your question. The only thing that is stopping me is that I don't know the correct answer. However Mike Inmon at MacGregor is the person I would ask. His e-mail is :
