Perhaps it was easier for someone to leave it clipped on the topping lift for storage?

|Faster||Don't get why it's attached to the mast, otherwise it sounds like a jib sheet set.|

|zz4gta||Sounds like assym sheets for a chute. Obviously being used as something else, but red and green, spliced to a single shackle? Thats my guess.|

ID this rigging
I have this rigging that I took off my boat this summer to get it out of the way and now that I look at it I'm not sure what it's supposed to be. No pictures but an easy description: it's 1/4 or 5/16 line, actually two lines, a red one and a green one each eye spliced to a single snap shackle. So it looks like a continuous line, half red and half green with a snap shackle in the middle.
When I took it off the mast, I assumed it was the spinnaker topping lift. It came off a small block only about half way up the side of the mast. Now it doesn't seem to make sense as a topping lift. I'm not sure what it's supposed to be.
