THanks for the welcome. I've not looked past boatus due to the age of the boats i'm looking at. I know the Virgin Islands well, have only been to the Bahama's while racing long time ago. Like Buffett sings..i gotta go where its warm. Thanks again for the insurance tip. Contact name?

Why can't you get coverage in the Virgins? I have it with London Marine Insurance through Offshore Risk Management in St. Thomas USVI and Tortola BVI.
Welcome to the forum and hope you find what your seeking!

Not to worry
About leaving. You think about it and think about it. Once you decide to do it, that's 95% of it. I'm feeling great about it.

Single handing newbie
Great forum and thanks to the hosts. I'm about to jump in full tilt and leave all behind, heh, whats left of all. Kids are grown. Wife hates sailing. No real reason to stick around. Will take a 3x5 glossy of her with me. I'm going to buy a 38' to 42' fiberglass, older boat and make my way to warmer water. Florida is a stop over because of insurance $4000 quote from boatus. Bahama's is only 100 dollars more on a 1100 quote for coverage from NB to Jacksonville. They wont write in the Virgin Islands, so its looking like Bahama's for me. Not sure what else to say. Thanks.
