popsla I grew up sailing scows in Mpls. I have to admit that I have forgotten almost everything about them, except that they are a blast! Previous poster absolutely correct. They are sailed well heeled. You are going to have so much fun.

As regards the bilge boards - when beating or reaching, the windward board is ''up'' and the leeward board is ''down''. This may seem like a hassle at first but you''ll soon find it to be ''routine''. The only real difference in sailing a scow versus other sailboats is that a scow is ''designed'' to sail at large angles of heel .... 25 degrees over is ''normal''.

How to sail a Melges MC Scow

I recently purchased a Melges MC Scow. I have done a small amount of sailing, but on nothing with multiple boards. I didnt get any info on how to rig the boat. If there is anyone who is familiar with this boat I would appreciate your input.
