sailingdog Start with the proper boat... and with the pilot charts/sailing directions... at least in terms of planning. Jimmy Cornell's World Cruising Routes has some basic routes for doing circumnavigations in it as well...

More Solo RTW Nonsense...

Seems like the new thing to do these days is to be the youngest to sail solo nonstop around the world. I must admit, I have the same dream as the past three (sunderland, perham, and watson), except I don't expect or plan to break any records or be in the spotlight of the media. But let's just say I were 17 years old and had a goal to sail non-stop, singlehanded, totally unassisted around the world within the next five years; how/where would i start planning my journey
