Be aware that Halberdier is not looking for crew, but for people to share his sailing adventures as you will be paying for the privilege. As such, this may constitute chartering the boat rather than crewing and the legal situation may be slightly different than going as unpaid, non-contributing crew.

I'm looking for a boat for crossing the atlantic (west-east),
I can sail, cook, and work on the boat...

I read your post about wishing to do some blue water cruising. My name is Perry, I'm 27 with a Business degree and just finished 4.5 years in the Navy. I have a Cape Dory 31. I'm in Charleston, SC and am planning to set sail on February 14th. I'm still deciding on the first stop, but ultimately, this is a cruise through the Bahamas and on down the Caribbean, one way.
Let me know if this interests you at all.

Good thing I'm a sleep in my truck, canned food type of sailor
Yeah, that's a good idea though. I'll probably just call up a few clubs here soon on the coast and see whats goin on. You da man tommay!

Then look to the clubs that are near the saltwater within your driving distance and there will be crew wanted listings BUT just like on your boat it will take time
Theres just no need for most owners to house and feed crew when we sail to a big event and need housing we all split the land based costs up which at a race week could be 1000 each

|J24mark||local for me is still an hour and 1/2 away. I mostly want to get some blue water under my belt. I own a race boat J/24 "locally", I just want to get out of a lake without having to drag my boat to the coast.|

|tommays||Your going to do best working into soemthing local as no matter how nice or good you are for the most part it takes time for a boat crew to gel.|
