Those are some handsome young men you have there, Mirage. Don't bother sewing those buttons back on. They'll just pop off again.

Ok, here are my favorite shots from fathers day. I will stop posting now and go and sew my shirt bottons back on. Please humour a proud dad. Merry Christmas everyone.

Yes Kwaltersmi, thats how I rig it up. Over the water sounds like fun though. I do that with the boom and attach the halyard to the boom for extra support. That's only at anchor though. I am always scheming to make life aboard fun for my boys. Their favourite activity is always taking turns being the captain of the dinghy even if it happens to be tied off to the mother ship if I expect it to be too windy or something. That's what they enjoy most about cruising, all the fun around the water. Most times in Georgian Bay I won't put my big toe in but that usually doesn't stop them from jumping right in. Their mother isn't too far behind them as well. I am happy with the view.

Very good post...inspirational to other fathers like myself! Family cruising is the only cruising I know.
As a side note, I noticed your hammock chair picture. Do you hang it from the main halyard? I just boat one for my wife for Christmas. I've thought about hanging it from the main halyard, but also considered slinging it out over the water with the spinnaker pole.

Always nice to read about and see family cruising situations.... drives me nuts to hear people say "we used to sail but had to quit when we had kids.."
Nice posts, M275!

It seems like a lot of trouble sometimes to get three young boys organized for a cruise but I am always glad once we are on the water.

You are really creating some wonderful memories for those boys. Somewhere down the road, they'll look back fondly on these memories and it will warm them to remember the good times with their father and siblings.
Thanks for sharing.
