I'm looking for the largest yards on the E. Coast. I've been to Indiantown in FL and making a trip to Deale MD in a couple of weeks. Where are the big yards located where you may find some good deals?

I'm always looking at all types of boats but it would be a dream to find a Bristol Channel Cutter for sale that "Needs some TLC" Me and and one or two other people on the planet I'm sure....lol

Just looking for places where people haul and store boats. Never know what you might find.
We'll I haven't been to HH North in a while but it is not exactly a cheap place to let a boat languish. There is a small yard just across the bridge from HHN where it seemed boats were going to die. I looked at a CS36 there a couple of years ago.

You might try the yards around Deltaville, VA also. No one big yard, but several fair sized ones and being that its among the cheapest places to keep a boat on the Chesapeake its probably more likely to have a few that are neglected.

Good Luck,

Bill

Herrington Harbor North (in Deale) is the largest one I know of on the Chesapeake. Sounds like it's already on your radar, though.

In Annapolis and Solomons, the concentration of largish marinas would make them good destinations. In Annapolis, Burt Jabins and Port Annapolis would be two of the larger ones. Washburns, Zahneiser's, and maybe Spring Cove (??not sure on that one) would probably rank largest in Solomons.

But I would think it would be more efficient to simply drive a keyboard around the web. Maybe not as much fun, but... ;)

Thanks

Thanks everyone, I'm driving up to NC today to look at a boat. John, I looked into touring the PSC factory but it's a few hours from where we're going and we have to get back, I would like to go up to Washington sometime.

Brandon,

That's a trip I'd like to do sometime too -- but I'm still waiting for my invitation.:D :D

Actually, I've heard Washington is a good place to visit by water -- I've toyed the idea of sailing down there for a look.
