John, I was watching some of your DVDs on Amazon instant video (Free by the way if you have Prime!), and the I especially liked the Heavy Weather one, though I think I was too distracted by watching the Hinckley going through the waves to notice what you were saying, that is one beautiful boat! You do really have a lot of good info, just wondering if you would change much since those videos were done a while ago? (IE has your opinions on practices changed significantly?)

Thank YOU John. They are invaluable resources to new sailors like me.

Any plans to make some new content? It would be great to get your take on newer means of electronic navigation, etc.

What else are you up to these days?

I need more posts to reply with a link, but if you search for "Netflix + Annapolis Book of Seamanship" you can find about 4 of the DVD's to rent. There is also a free 1 month trial for the DVD subscription service. I will sign up just for these DVD's then cancel when I am done.

Re: Annapolis Book of Seamanship

No one is suggesting to use them as an anchor or a heavy-weather drogue?

The sailing club I'm in usually has a book exchange sometime during the winter, I'll bring one there. I think it's the most useful sailing book I've read.

And I'll probably keep one copy of the third edition so I can compare it to the fourth and see what changed.

Sell 'em online?

Or donate them to a library, sailing club, someplace where they might help the gene pool.

Now what do I do with my two copies of the third edition?!?
Leave them at a marina with a book swap?
