James Baldwin has been writing an online book recalling this adventures aboard Atom.
An excellent read about a $ poor sailor who does more on his modest pearson 28 than most of us will do in a life time.

I'm still picking up more books. Just read Sea Change, what a great story! I'm also starting to study celestial navigation. Seems complicated for sure, using a sextant is pretty straightforward though. It's basically a wild looking protractor... Here's some new purchases:
Amazon.com: 2010 Nautical Almanac (9780939837854): United Kingdom Hydrographic Office, Nautical Almanac Office of the U.S. Naval Observatory: Books
Amazon.com: The American Practical Navigator: "Bowditch" (9780939837540): Nathaniel Bowditch: Books

I enjoyed Susanne Geisman's - Living a Dream
This is NOT a how-to book. It is more of a what-we-did, and why-we did it book. I could relate to her burnout from constant business travel, and the peace that she and her husband found while cruising. She has a good 9-11 story, and so do I (I suspect that most of us do).

Don Casey's book is great!!!
I also picked up : Amazon.com: The Practical Pilot: Coastal Navigation by Eye, Intuition, and Common Sense (9780877429692): Leonard A. Eyges: Books
Got these at half price books the other day as well: Amazon.com: Maximum Sail Power: The Complete Guide to Sails, Sail Technology, and Performance (9780972202602): Brian Hancock, Sir Robin Knox-Johnson: Books
Amazon.com: The Ultimate Encyclopedia of Knots and Ropework: Over 200 Tying Techniques with Step-by-Step Photographs (9781844768912): Geoffrey Budworth: Books
The sail power book is great for theory of sailing and really explains too much for me to take in at this time...
