Faster Long term solution... as mitiempo said, rip it out and replace it. At least it's not the "Mohair" crap Reinell put up there on some boats.

mitiempo Not sure what would be best but any moisture or steam used will likely damage the underlying wood and that is structural in the case of bulkheads. While a big job you could remove it possibly and replace it with something easier to care for.

i HAve no idea what the hell the Captiva company was smoking when it decided to cover the bulkheads and overhead of the 240 cabin with riug MATERIAL. GOOD EVENING MR. AND MRS. NORTH AMERICA AND ALL THE SHIPS AT SEA..RUGS IN A BOAT TRANSLATE INTO MILDEW As well as embeded dirt..The very last thing you ever want to clean a rug with is rug cleaner or any type of soap because it encapsulates the dirt and that is what makes the rug look dull..Ditto for clothing which is why the soap companies put brightners in their products..MY QUESTION..IS THERE A WAY TO GET DEEPPLY GEOUND IN DIRT OUT OF RUG MATERIAL. [I] TRIED USING A HOME STEAMER WITH OXIO CLEAN NO GOOD. rUG SOAP WILL ONLY MAKE IT WORSE.
