I've encountered a problem where I'm redline limited by, unfortunately, throttle travel.
I have, it would seem, a compromise to make in adjusting throttle cable length. Would there be any detrimental effects to holding the throttle linkage under tension (and slightly open) when the throttle handle is in the fully shut position?
In order to fully open the throttle with the throttle mechanism in the wide-open position I would have to shorten the throttle cable so much that the throttle linkage would not fully shut when the throttle handle is returned to the fully-closed position. If I have enough throttle travel to shut down the engine when I go to fully-closed would there be any other possible effects of holding the throttle partially open when the engine is secured?
