Shipislandpirate Hey Davit....Sorry I didn't see your post earlier...I could of headed south with you...For all the doubters out there Davit is a very good and safe sailor..and his boat is well equip...Sailed with him across the gulf about 3 years ago from Kemah, TX to Dunedin, FL...

sailingdog I've got nothing against Davit in specific...just warning women to be careful about meeting strangers that they only know through the internet. Last I checked, men generally weren't the victims of rape or worse.

chall03 How are you doing Smack? What have I missed?

chall03 Been kinda hectic so far this year Smack......time I'm sure is going faster as I get older perhaps?

I have been travelling a fair bit with work....and well just tried to sail as much as I could over our summer....
We bought a House, are selling a house and been renovating both of them in the interim....all part of a grand plan that hopefully has freed up a bit of capital and will see us buy our 'go now, go what ever size we can afford' cruising boat in the next few months. All of this has mean't that I have just been taking a little bit of a break from on here, plus I don't know if I have really had much to say of great note to the Sailnet community, unless everyone was interested in firsthand accounts of how not to install plasterboard....

The common sense advice is still the same and not necessarily specific to Davit here......It is just be careful before hopping on a boat with a stranger you met on the internet...
I agree with that Chall. So maybe the above advice:
Quote:
Any women looking to sail with davit810, be very cautious.
should have been general and not singled the guy out?

Ugh - it's good to hear that Davit's good people. Now I know where I can always get a beer!

ughmo2000 Ahh I know Davit. He's ok. He's a good sailor, has a nice boat, and would give you his last beer if you needed it. If anybody wants a little time on the water he'd be a good guy to sail with.

imagine2frolic Me thinks your intention is to get laid by whooing a woman with sailing in paradise. Nothing wrong with that, but you are a stranger to this potential crew. You could be a great person, or another Dahmer? What would be your advice to your sister if she was going to leave with a complete stranger?.........i2f
