FarCry I have the same unit and it does not flash.

Are you in very shallow water when it flashes the depth or does it do it all the time?

From looking at the manual it would appear that it should only flash if there is a problem with the sensitivity adjustment but then it should only flash a specific number and not the correct depth.

Is there any chance you have the alarm set and it's causing the screen to flash?

I have this unit on my new to me boat. I have the user manual and I have read it (most of it anyway). The unit is flashing the correct depth but it is flashing. I've read that a flashing 0.0 is sign of a defective unit but flashing the correct depth? I don't think it should flash. It will only be used as a back up because I have a Garmin model to install but I would like it to work properly anyway.

Is flashing normal?
